Job Description
As a Security Officer Area Access in Charleston, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. Join Allied Universal at a busy logistics and distribution location as an unarmed patrol professional. In this role, you will conduct routine patrols, stay visible to help deter security-related incidents, and support daily operations through strong customer service and communication. Working with a team that values agility, reliability, innovation, and integrity, you will help create a welcoming environment while responding to site needs with professionalism and care.

- Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities appropriate to the location.
- Respond to incidents, access concerns, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while communicating with site contacts and emergency responders as needed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout loading areas, warehouse spaces, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or unusual conditions.
- Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials, and document visitor, contractor, and/or delivery activity in accordance with site protocols.
- Observe package handling, trailer yards, and/or shipping and receiving areas for security-related concerns, then report and document incidents, hazards, and/or suspicious behavior promptly.
Minimum Requirements:
- Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and a rustic guard shack.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
