The Hybrid Press Operator I is responsible for independently operating Domino digital printing equipment combined with traditional flexographic print elements to safely produce high-quality labels and packaging products that meet customer specifications, production schedules, and quality standards. This operator serves as a technical resource within the department by troubleshooting equipment, maintaining exceptional color consistency, minimizing waste, maximizing machine efficiency, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. The Hybrid Press Operator I works collaboratively with Production, Prepress, Finishing, Maintenance, and Quality teams to deliver exceptional customer results.

Essential Responsibilities
- Follows posted press schedule for production of orders.
- Make-ready and run orders as per specifications noted on job ticket.
- Obtains supervisor/manager approval for run when required.
- Sets up and runs up to five flexographic print stations, including four color process, mounting photopolymer plates, cylinders, and other related processes.
- Sets up flexographic print stations in conjunction with running digital assets.
- Have been trained, understand, and follow all GMI Certification Processes.
- Fills out production paperwork and inspection procedures.
- Continually monitors jobs as being printed checking color, registration, and die cut.
- Make corrective adjustments as needed.
- Conducts the final inspection and count, including overrun and samples, when job is complete.
- Records set up time, run time, cleanup time, amount printed, and any special notes on job.
- Maintains and ensures digital press equipment is clean and in proper condition daily.
- Builds and maintains current knowledge of new or improved press methods, materials, equipment, and supplies.
- Strives for more effective efficiencies while maintaining top-notch quality.
- Comply with company policies and procedures giving special attention to safety regulations.
- Reports any concerns or discrepancies to management.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Language Ability:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual will obtain knowledge of Label Traxx. Digital print assets are computer-based interactions. Candidate should be comfortable engaging a variety of software applications.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Requirements
- Stand and walk for extended periods.
- Frequently bend, reach, twist, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to distinguish color variations accurately.
- Work safely around moving production equipment.
- Wear required PPE.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The Hybrid operation has a moderate level of noise. The employee can wear hearing protection PPE as they are comfortable.
