This role plays a critical part in assay development, biomarker interpretation, and clinical trial support, partnering closely with laboratory teams, project managers, and clients.This is a high-impact, client-facing role that combines scientific expertise, diagnostic interpretation, and cross-functional collaboration to support cutting-edge oncology and immunology programs.Key Responsibilities:Evaluate and validate new histological assays, ensuring scientific rigor and clinical relevanceProvide expert interpretation of biomarker data across assay development initiativesReview, evaluate, and release test results for exploratory studies and prospective clinical trialsSupport central lab testing for sponsor-driven studiesEnsure compliance within a GCLP-regulated environmentPerform and interpret digital image analysis for biomarker assessmentDocument and manage results within LIMS and associated reporting toolsPartner with laboratory teams and project managers to troubleshoot test failures and optimize workflowsParticipate in client discussions and provide scientific consultationContribute to scientific presentations and internal/external knowledge sharingProvide subject matter expertise across oncology and immunology biomarker strategiesPosition Qualifications (Education, Skills, Experience):Board-certified Pathologist (German board certification preferred, but not required)Significant experience in predictive biomarkers, with a focus on oncology and/or immunologyStrong expertise in histopathology techniques, including:Immunohistochemistry (IHC)Multiplex immunofluorescence (mIF)FISHRNA in situ hybridizationExperience with digital pathology and image analysis platformsFamiliarity working in clinical trials and/or GCLP-regulated environmentsExcellent English communication skills; German proficiency is a plusAdditional experience in cytology, hematopathology, or genomics is advantageousLocation:100% on site in Kassel, GermanyRelocation assistance will be considered for the right candidateCompensation and Benefits:Discovery Life Sciences is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices, and we strive to provide employees with total compensation packages that are market competitive.
