POSITION SUMMARY
We are looking for an experienced, passionate, and resourceful senior-level engineer with a proven track record to join the EarnIn payroll services team. In this role, you will participate in the design, development, and implementation of both backend services and the frontend experiences that power EarnIn’s new time & attendance product. You’ll work across the stack to ensure backend systems and user-facing applications are well-aligned, intuitive, and reliable.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Design & build key components for EarnIn’s time-and-attendance system.
- Develop robust, secure, and scalable backend services and APIs (Golang) while contributing to intuitive, accessible user-facing frontend (ReactJS) features for our new time & attendance product.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to deliver high-impact features that meet the needs of customers end to end.
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable and reliable backend microservices for EarnIn’s payroll products.
- Investigate and resolve production issues across the stack with a focus on root cause analysis, long-term stability, and continuous improvement.
- Contribute to building a modern, best-in-class platform that handles time-critical workflows with precision and reliability.
- Conduct code reviews to ensure code quality, adherence to best practices, maintainability, and alignment with project requirements, while providing constructive feedback to team members across backend and frontend codebases.
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality software features within established timelines.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 4+ years of development experience in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
- Experienced in building and maintaining end-to-end web applications using modern backend languages (e.g., Go, C#, Python) and frontend frameworks (e.g., React, TypeScript), with a strong focus on scalable architecture and user-centric design.
- Hands-on experience working with relational databases.
- Cloud experience, AWS preferred.
- Experience managing infrastructure and service configurations using Configuration as Code (e.g., Helm, Kustomize, Terraform).
- Deploy and operate backend services in a Kubernetes-based environment, optimizing for resiliency, scalability, and performance.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, ChatGPT, or similar tools) as part of your software development workflow
- Comfort collaborating across the stack, including working closely with design and product to translate requirements into user-facing functionality.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a strong bias toward action and results.
