Role and Team Overview
This role is a position designed to oversee a range of related projects and initiatives specifically for the sport of Ice Hockey, bridging our division with Global Technology teams following recent organisational updates. In this role, you will consolidate project delivery, governance, and administrative workflows for a broad program of hockey-specific work.
By owning the operational execution of our cutting-edge tracking and broadcast integrations, you will ensure seamless product delivery to the NHL, while enabling our hockey product management teams to focus on commercial and account relations. Key Responsibilities
Program & Project Governance: Drive the day-to-day operations of multiple complex projects simultaneously. Lead projects through the full lifecycle of discovery, feasibility, planning, and execution.
Meeting Facilitation & Alignment: Structure and facilitate weekly steering and alignment meetings with clear agendas, ensuring cross-functional teams remain synchronized on milestones.
Risk Management & Reporting: Establish and maintain robust project workflows with a heavy emphasis on RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, and Dependencies) reporting. Provide proactive status updates to leadership and external stakeholders.
Live Delivery & Product Integration: Partner with Head of Ice Hockey and the wider Ice Hockey team to ensure new technology product developments (such as optical tracking data, biomechanics, broadcast graphics, and automated officiating solutions) are successfully integrated into existing live operations.
PMO Alignment & Capability Building: Partner with the Global PMO to introduce corporate best practices, tools, and standardized workflows to the Hockey department.
Leadership: Act as a key member of the Ice Hockey management team. Drive innovation and continuous improvement in service delivery and departmental operations.
What Does A Typical Week Look Like?
Keep Projects on Track: Run weekly standups and steering meetings. You'll work closely with the Director of Ice Hockey to make sure our day-to-day progress matches our big-picture goals.
Keep Teams Accountable: Manage Jira and Confluence to keep project docs up to date. You'll assign clear action items after meetings and follow up to ensure things actually get done.
Connect Tech and Hockey: Partner with the Head of Ice Hockey, Commercial Manager, and Product Owners to build roadmaps that align technical development with real business needs.
Spot Risks Early: Review project dashboards, keep risk logs updated, and send out proactive status updates so stakeholders are never left guessing.
Launch New Initiatives: Lead project kickoffs and guide cross-functional tech teams through the early discovery, scoping, and feasibility phases.

Essentials
Program Delivery Experience: Proven track record of managing multiple related projects simultaneously, tracking milestones, and delivering against strict success criteria.
Structured Risk Management: Advanced proficiency in project governance, framework structuring, and RAID log management.
Communication & Stakeholder Management: Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills; confident navigating corporate matrix environments and managing diverse stakeholders.
Adaptability: A solutions-focused mindset with the ability to adapt quickly, assess impacts, and propose informed solutions in a fast-paced, reactive environment.
Analytical Mindset: Strong data-driven decision-making skills, with a solid foundational understanding of data analytics, automation, or modern software deployment.
Team Leadership: Experience leading, supporting, and upskilling teams, including a comfort level managing remotely distributed staff.
Desirables
3+ years of Project/Program Management experience within a successful technology, media, logistics, or live operations organization.
Proficiency with modern project management software and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Asana, ClickUp, or Google Workspace).
Familiarity with agile delivery methods, product development lifecycles, or cloud-based technologies (e.g., AWS).
A general understanding of or passion for the game of hockey.
