Accountabilities:
- Build and execute a comprehensive federal government affairs strategy aligned with business objectives and long-term priorities.
- Advise executives, business teams, and external partners on policy positioning, advocacy strategies, and key government engagement initiatives.
- Monitor legislative, regulatory, and geopolitical developments to identify potential risks and opportunities affecting operations, supply chains, market access, and workforce strategy.
- Represent the organization before Congress, federal agencies, policymakers, trade associations, and industry coalitions.
- Develop and communicate compelling policy messages supporting technology innovation, semiconductor competitiveness, research investment, and industry growth.
- Translate complex regulatory topics, including trade policies, export controls, sanctions, tariffs, and immigration regulations, into clear business recommendations.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with congressional offices, agency representatives, government stakeholders, and policy influencers.
- Manage state government affairs activities, including engagement with relevant state officials and agencies on workforce, investment, and business priorities.
- Coordinate with external lobbyists, consultants, and industry organizations to ensure consistent and effective advocacy efforts.
- Support broader regulatory strategy initiatives, including international policy engagement as responsibilities expand.
- Prepare executive briefings, advocacy materials, strategic recommendations, and communications for senior leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree in public policy, law, political science, international relations, business, or a related discipline required.
- Advanced degree such as a J.D. or equivalent preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in government affairs, regulatory affairs, public policy, legislative advocacy, trade policy, or export control compliance.
- Experience working with Congress, federal agencies, and senior policymakers on technology, trade, or industrial policy matters.
- Knowledge of the semiconductor, technology, electronics, or related industries is strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of U.S. legislative and regulatory processes, including export controls, trade policy, and immigration frameworks.
- Experience assessing regulatory risks and advising organizations on business implications.
- Demonstrated ability to create and execute government affairs strategies from the ground up.
- Experience representing organizations through trade associations or building coalitions among stakeholders with diverse interests.
- Familiarity with employment-based immigration and high-skilled workforce policies is a plus.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including executive briefings, advocacy materials, and policy messaging.
- Strong strategic thinking, negotiation, project management, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously in a fast-moving regulatory environment.
- Registered federal lobbyist status, or ability and willingness to register under applicable lobbying requirements.
- Ability to travel regularly to headquarters locations and other policy-related destinations as needed.
- Competitive base salary range of $225,000 - $275,000 USD.
