Director, Customer Expansion Marketing
We have an opportunity for a Director, Customer Expansion Marketing to join our Marketing – Customer Expansion Marketing team in Bangalore, reporting to the Vice President, Field Marketing. In this pivotal role, you will build and lead a highly strategic Customer Expansion Marketing (CEM) engine dedicated to unlocking the immense revenue potential within Infoblox’s tenured installed base. You will move the organization away from traditional “batch-and-blast” marketing and build a modern, product-led digital motion designed to cross-sell, up-sell, and drive product adoption, targeting a $67M+ ARR pipeline. Based in our Bangalore Center of Excellence, you will work directly with global marketing leadership and adjacent Marketing Operations (MOPS) teams to build, launch, and optimize digital expansion campaigns using cutting-edge AI-native tools.
Be a Contributor — What You’ll Do
- Act as a hands-on player-coach to architect and build the initial signal-led expansion plays, personally launching the first pilot campaigns before scaling execution across the CEM team
- Design and lead audience segmentation and cohort-building strategies by manipulating complex customer data to isolate targets based on product telemetry, hardware refresh cycles, and contract renewal dates
- Operate hands-on with modern growth and data enrichment tools (e.g., Clay, Pendo, Salesforce, Qualified) to trigger signal-led, automated expansion plays that generate Product-Qualified Leads (PQLs)
- Build and maintain in-app and email-based automated activation nurture journeys that trigger when a customer purchases a product but fails to activate it, driving them toward sticky feature usage and minimizing churn risk
- Monitor campaign performance, track Influenced Pipeline and PQL generation, and run focused A/B tests to improve conversion rates on cross-sell and up-sell motions
- Act as a force multiplier for Sales by partnering with sales leadership to identify expansion opportunities, align plays to account priorities, and translate signals into actionable pipeline motions
- Leverage AI-powered tools for intent detection, audience discovery, predictive scoring, content generation, and campaign optimization to accelerate execution and sharpen targeting
- Define and own the CEM team’s KPIs, dashboards, and reporting cadence, translating data insights into concise, actionable recommendations for global leadership
- Partner closely with Renewals leadership to design co-terming and renewal-adjacent up-sell motions, then codify successful plays into repeatable frameworks across segments, products, and regions
- Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of CEM Execution Leads within the Bangalore Center of Excellence, setting the standard through hands-on execution before delegating and scaling
Be Prepared — What You Bring
- 10+ years of experience in Marketing Operations, Demand Generation, Digital Marketing, Lifecycle Marketing, or Growth Marketing within a B2B SaaS or enterprise technology environment
- Demonstrated success building and leading teams in a “zero-to-one” environment, including standing up new functions, processes, and playbooks
- Deep architectural familiarity with enterprise stacks (Marketo, 6sense, Salesforce) combined with a willingness to operate hands-on with modern PLG and data enrichment tools (Pendo, Clay, Qualified) to build the initial engine
- Experience with, or strong technical desire to master, modern product-led growth (PLG) mechanics and data enrichment tools such as Pendo, Clay, Qualified, or similar intent-signal platforms
- Strong analytical and data manipulation skills, with the ability to merge disparate data sets, apply scoring models, and find the “signal in the noise” to create hyper-targeted customer cohorts
- Proven experience using AI and automation in marketing workflows (e.g., predictive analytics, AI-assisted content creation, automated lead routing, personalization engines) with a focus on responsible and transparent use
- Excellent cross-functional communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey campaign strategies, performance, and data insights to senior stakeholders
- Proactive, builder mindset with comfort operating in an agile, fast-changing environment where processes are being designed and refined in real time
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business, Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field; MBA or master’s degree preferred
- Experience managing and developing direct reports in a global, matrixed organization
Be Successful — Your Path
First 90 Days: Immerse in the culture and map the systems, but hit the ground running by launching the first pilot Expansion Play and establishing the initial pipeline measurement framework
Six Months:
- Own the end-to-end CEM strategy and execution framework, with at least two priority expansion plays fully operational and generating measurable Influenced Pipeline and PQLs
- Establish core performance dashboards and a regular reporting cadence for the CEM function, providing clear insights to global marketing leadership
- Hire and onboard initial CEM Execution Leads, building the Bangalore pod with defined roles, development plans, and operating rhythms
- Implement at least one AI-assisted targeting or personalization workflow that shows a clear lift in engagement or conversion versus baseline campaigns
One Year:
- Deliver meaningful contribution to the $67M+ ARR expansion pipeline target through scaled, repeatable CEM playbooks across multiple product lines and customer segments
- Scale proven AI-enabled campaign architectures (activation rescues, telemetry-triggered cross-sell, renewal-adjacent up-sell) across additional regions and segments
- Establish the Bangalore CEM pod as a recognized center of excellence, with documented playbooks, training materials, and a visible talent development pipeline
- Influence roadmap decisions for the CEM tech stack, including evaluation and adoption of new AI, intent, and automation capabilities that drive efficiency and performance
